Postmaster at Bonawe. Convict, sentenced to 14 years transportation 14 Apr 1847 at Inverary for fraud, transported to Hobart per "Rodney", arriving 28 Nov 1850. Conditional pardon 1853.
A notice of his sister's wedding in Scotland in 1859 noted he was 'for many years connected with the Hobart Town Press' (Ref. Hobart Town Daily Mercury)
He sailed with his family to Sydney 1860 per "Hargreaves", then moved to Maitland and later Newcastle (newspaper editor/reporter to 1871). Probably later moved to Auckland, New Zealand
