He was served heir to his uncle Colin Campbell at Stronchriggan 6 Nov 1843, and to his great-aunt Arabella Campbell at Stronchriggan 22 Apr 1844. Said to be of Culgany, presumably Calgary, home of his aunt Jane McAskill, nee Campbell (ref. Patricia Leslie)
