  1. 2.  Lieut. Allan Cameron (son of Sir Ewen Cameron, of Lochiel, 17th Chief of Clan Cameron and Isobel Maclean); died in ca 2 Nov 1730 in Rome; was buried in Monte Testacco.

    Notes:

    Agent for King James VIII and III, travelling frequently between France and England in 1714-15 and coming with him to Scotland in December 1715.

    He died as Col. Cameron in Rome, "one of the Gentlemen of the Bedchamber to the Chevalier de St George (alias the Pretender)" Ref. Monthly Chronicle, London, November 1730.

    At some time he purchased land in Jamaica and some members of his family visited this estate, later occupied by his grandson, Evan.
    He also bought land in New Jersey in 1685, sold by his son Donald in 1721.
