  1. 1.  Alexander Campbell (son of Patrick Campbell, 4th of Barcaldine and Lucy Cameron); died in 1751.

    Notes:

    Lieut in Loudon's Highlanders.

    He is said by Campbell researchers to have been unmarried, and to have died 1751, before his brother Colin. He is also said to be second son, likely with the name Alexander.

    Burke's Peerage states he was born 1729, died 1822, and married 1770 Elizabeth Sutherland, with issue Hugh, Kenneth, Norman and Donald Campbell. These dates are incompatible with the McIntyre/Campbell history.

  1. 6.  Sir Ewen Cameron, of Lochiel, 17th Chief of Clan Cameron was born in Feb 1629 in Kilchurn Castle (son of John Cameron and Margaret Campbell); died in Feb 1719.

    Notes:

    For the full history of Sir Ewen, see The Camerons.
    At some time he purchased land in Jamaica and some members of his family visited this estate, later occupied by his grandson, Evan.
    He also bought land in New Jersey in 1685, sold by his son Donald in 1721.
