    Parentage not proven, but accepted as son of Donald Cameron and Jane Proudfoot.
    Migration and death details uncertain, but may have been living at Ellerston (Elliston), Scone, NSW in Sep 1840, though a family story tells of his death from tetanus on a ship to Australia, from killing sheep, with Robert Jnr being born on board, in the Great Australian Bight.
    Robert Cameron witnessed baptism of Donald's son Robert in Glasgow in 1841, with Hugh and Alexander Cameron'

    Farm Manager, of Gylen Farm, Kerrera, (an island off Oban), Recorded in a document held by Chiefs of MacDougall as proprietor of Farm of Gylen from 1824, more recently called Upper Gylen. From 1838 tenants were Robert & Alexander Cameron, and from 1840 to 1848 Alexander Cameron. A page from a rent book shows Donald Cameron paying £30 pa from 1828 to 1837 and then £60 pa to 1840. Another rent book shows Donald Cameron of Gylen having paid £15

    Donald married Jane Proudfoot in ca 1793. Jane was born in ca 1776 in not in Argyll; died on 18 Mar 1849; was buried in Kilmore churchyard, Argyll. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
