Lieut Lawrence Desborough

Notes:

son of Lieut General Lawrence Desborough of Royal Marines and Ann Catherine Vivion.
He joined 3rd Regt. as Ensign 10 Apr 1825, and was in NSW for two years before going to India. Described as retired Captain and Military Tutor with 7 pupils living in, at 1861 census of Sunninghill. Before his death he was living in a "grace and favour" apartment at Windsor Castle

Lawrence married Maria Alletta Cameron on 14 Oct 1834 in Ghazepore, Bengal, India. Maria (daughter of Lt. Col. Allan Cameron and Aletta Jacoba Borcherds) was born on 17 Oct 1810 in Cape of Good Hope; died on 17 Feb 1879 in Leatherhead. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
