    Said to be descended from Dawnie branch of Glennevis Camerons.

    Crofter on 6 acres Blarmacfoldich, 1851. He came to Australia with his first wife on "Tasmania" arriving Portland 23 Nov 1851 from Plymouth 25 Jul 1851.

    Allan was first employed to work among the sheep by Messrs Donald (I61725) and John Cameron (I61746) on Morambro station for twelve months, after which he was manager of Kilbride station, Penola, SA (later called Nangwarry) for 11 years. He next entered into partnership with Alexander (King) Cameron (I60136) in the purchase of Avoca Forest Station, Castlemaine pastoral district in 1864, the partners running 20-25,000 sheep. In 1873, he and his partner purchased the Springfield station near Swan Hill and conducted both properties until 1882, Allan Cameron being the managing partner. He then relinquished both stations and leased (and later bought) Bealiba station from Mr J. B. Chirnside, grazing about 12,000 sheep. He was a member of the Bet Bet council and was appointed a JP in 1882. (Ref. Michelle Roberts)
