3. James Cameron was born on 22 Nov 1804 in Murthly, Perthshire; was christened on 2 Dec 1804 in Little Dunkeld, Perthshire; died on 30 Mar 1889 in Wisconsin, USA.
4. John Cameron was born on 20 Oct 1806 in Little Dunkeld, Perthshire; died on 3 Apr 1884; was buried in Little Dunkeld, Perthshire.

Schoolmaster at Murthly, Perthshire. He probably died 1796 (Ref. tree).

He may have had a brother Peter, with issue in Caputh.

He escaped the massacre at Glencoe and settled as Innkeeper at Dalpowie, nr Murthly, parish of Little Dunkeld, Perthshire, changing his name to Cameron.

He may have had another son, Peter, whose descendants lived at Caputh, Perthshire. A story also exists in that family of descent from McIan. (Ref. Scott Newport)
