Probably of this generation, brother of Callart.
Officer in the French service, described as Captain reformed of Booth's regiment.
In July 1742 he was imprisoned at Edinburgh for recruiting for the French service, along with Evan son of Duncan Cameron of Ballachulish and John son of Allan Cameron, tenant of Lochiel. (ref. London Evening Post, 10 July 1742)
In November 1745 he was amongst prisoners taken from a French ship en route to Scotland, along with Samuel Cameron, 2nd Lieut in Drummond's regt. (ref. London Evening Post)

7. | Allan Cameron (3.John3, 2.Allan2, 1.1) died in Oct 1749 in Dunkirk. Notes:
9th of Callart.
Wounded at Culloden, his estate was forfeited to the crown and he was banished to France. A letter from Colin Campbell of Glenure (Forfeited estate papers) dated 20 Nov 1749, states that he "died last month at Dunkirk".
Family/Spouse: Helen Stewart. Helen died on 30 Sep 1790. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
